Egab seeks an Africa Editor to be in charge of its Sub-Saharan Africa operations. This is a remote full-time position with flexible working hours.
Egab is an Egypt-based startup that empowers local journalists to get published in international and regional media with a focus on stories that defy stereotypes and challenge dominant narratives about their communities.
The Africa editor will act as the main point of contact for both journalists from Africa and editors interested in receiving pitches from the continent.
Applicants must have 5+ years of journalism work experience with international news organisation(s) either as a full-time staff or a freelancer as well as 2+ years of hands-on leadership experience in a newsroom.
The editor must be from an African country and familiar with solutions journalism (sojo).
Interested applicants must speak and write excellent English and, ideally, French too.
