DEADLINE: AUGUST 31, 2020 Applications are now open for the Alfred Friendly Press fellows worldwide.

The application is open to journalists in the print, broadcast and online medium all over the world.

The program is to create an exposure of American newsroom for journalists from developing countries.

The Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship is an annual program aimed at providing fellows with experience in reporting, writing and editing that will enhance future professional performance; transferring knowledge gained during the program to colleagues at home, and fostering ties between journalists in the United States and other countries.

The fellowship package covers training, travel, health insurance and basic living expenses.

The Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship starts in mid-March and ends in early September.

Successful candidates will commence the fellowship with a two-week orientation at the Missouri School of Journalism, followed by placement in leading U.S. newsrooms.

Applicants must have at least three years of professional experience, current full-time employment as a journalist, be between 25 and 35 years old and have a good level of spoken and written English.

Applications for this fellowship will end August 31.
