Grants

Apply for grant at Justice for Journalists Foundation

DEADLINE: MARCH 14, 2021 — Justice for Journalists (JFJ) Foundation invites professional and non-professional investigative journalists to apply for grants.

Investigative journalists, bloggers, and social activists both in wartime and peacetime can apply.

The grants cover investigation into violent crimes against journalists, freelancers, and bloggers.

JFJ grants cover the hard costs of getting to the story, reporting it, and the reasonable fee for the justifiable duration of the project.

Due to COVID-19 related travel restrictions, JFJ will only accept proposals for stories that do not require any foreign travel.

The maximum amount offered for each individual grant is USD 50, 000.

Staff journalists who plan to report from conflict zones or hostile environments must have a firm assignment from a news organisation that will assume full responsibility for their well-being.
Freelancers and bloggers who do not have backing from a news organisation must include appropriate insurance in project budget.
Interested applicants must provide three professional work samples. Applications must be in English or Russian.

The deadline for applications is March 14, 2021.
