DEADLINE: JANUARY 18, 2021 — Pictures of the Year International is accepting entries for its 78th competition.

POY is a program of the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the Missouri School of Journalism.

The award recognizes the best photojournalism, online presentation and visual editing created or published in 2020.

$1,000 cash prizes & Tiffany crystal trophy, among others, will be awarded to winners.

Application is open to teams or individuals, either independent or affiliated with media organizations such as newspapers, magazines, or specialty advocacy organizations.

Interested photographers can enter a maximum of fifteen projects in any combination of the available thirty-five categories.

POY accepts two photographic modes: color and black & white.

Applicants should avoid submitting heavily edited images.

Photographs must have been taken or published for the first time (either in print or online) between January 1 and December 31, 2020.

The entry fee is $50.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, January 18th, 2021 by 5:59 p.m. CST.
