DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2022 ― Applications are now open for the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) 21st annual Awards for Reporting on the Environment.
The awards will honour the best environmental journalism in 10 categories and bring recognition to environmental stories that are among the most important on the planet.
First-place winners in each category will receive $500 while second-place winners will receive $250 in all categories.
All first-place winners will be automatically entered into the Nina Mason Pulliam Award which is sponsored by the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
The winner of the Nina Mason Pulliam Award for the “best of the best” environmental reporting will receive a $10,000 prize which includes travel, registration and hotel expenses (up to $2,500) for the winner, or representatives of the winning team, to attend SEJ’s annual conference.
Application for the SEJ Awards for Reporting on the Environment will close on March 1, 2022. Late entry is allowed, with an extra fee, until April 5, 2022, 11:59 p.m. ET.
Winners of the SEJ Awards for Reporting on the Environment will be announced in early August.
Only stories published from February 1, 2021 – January 31, 2022, are eligible for this award.
