Fisheries Subsidies Story Grants at EJN

DEADLINE: JUNE 1, 2021 —Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering reporting grants to journalists to produce in-depth stories on fisheries subsidies issues.

EJN welcomes any story ideas on fisheries subsidies, including their links to overfishing and the depletion of fish stocks, their impact on small-scale fishers and livelihoods in coastal communities, the potential policy solutions governments could implement and more.

Interested applicants can be from any country in the world, but preference will be given to journalists reporting from India, the Caribbean, West Africa, Southern Africa and Japan.

Applications should be written in English or French.

Applications are open to online, print, television, radio journalists, other expert media practitioners with investigative reporting experience as well as freelance reporters and staff.

EJN expects to award 20 grants with an average budget of around $1,000.

The deadline for applications is June 1, 2021.
