Grants for research tackling disinformation in Africa

DEADLINE: JUNE 10, 2022 —The African Digital Democracy Observatory (ADDO) seeks targeted research project on how African societies are being targeted by disinformation and hostile information activities.

ADDO will offer a series of seed grants and additional technical support for rapid research into foreign state-affiliated influence operations targeting Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria & Senegal.

Fellows will each receive a grant of up to $15,000.

Both individual researchers and teams, or research organisations that work in African countries, or that are affiliated with African-based partners can apply.

ADDO is a coalition of Africa-focused watchdog research and policy think tank organisations that investigate disinformation and hybrid warfare that uses information/influence operations.

Applications in either English or French are eligible.

The deadline for applications is June 10, 2022.
