DEADLINE: AUGUST 14, 2025 — The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has launched a Health Journalism Fellowship to strengthen evidence-based public health storytelling across the continent.
This new track under the African Union Media Fellowship (AUMF) supports journalists who are passionate about reporting on health security, epidemic preparedness, and Africa’s growing health infrastructure. It will support five journalists, each representing one of the Africa CDC’s five Regional Coordinating Centres, with mentorship, reporting tools, and field engagement.
Fellows will work closely with Africa CDC and partners, with editorial guidance and access to exclusive learning tours, including global health institutions, as part of the broader AU Media Fellowship cohort.
Applicants must be 25 years or older from any of the African Union Member States with a proven interest in public health reporting and the ability to report on complex health issues.
