Journalists can apply to cover illicit finance in Africa

DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 27, 2021 —Thomson Reuters Foundation seeks to train journalists in Africa on the reportage of illicit finance.

This is an opportunity provided by the Wealth of Nations – Illicit finance (NORAD) programme for journalists based in Africa and working for one or more African media organisations.

The training will hold remotely from October 25th to November 12th, 2021.

Selected journalists will take part in an intensive online workshop covering illicit finance, reporting on companies, accounts and budgets, and investigative techniques.

Interested journalists must have at least two years of professional experience and must be fluent English.

Early-career journalists, freelancers and staff journalists can apply.

Story grant of up to USD 700 will be offered to journalists who are selected for the mentoring scheme.

The deadline for applications is September 27th, 2021.
