UNESCO trains bloggers on hate speech, fake news

No fewer than 32 bloggers and social media producers in Nigeria will participate in a two-day media awareness training on countering hate speech and fake news.

The training is organised by Media Awareness and Information for all Networks (MAIN) with support from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

It is tagged “Building Capacity of Nigerian Social Media Producers/Bloggers in Countering Hate Speech & Fake News”.

While the training in Southern Nigeria holds in Lagos between October 6 and 8, 2020, the session for Northern Nigeria will hold in Abuja at a date to be announced later.

The training will feature communication expert, Prof. Lai Oso of the Lagos State University, Dr Seyi Soremekun of the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) amongst others.
