VACANCY: Investigative journalists needed in Lagos

health, vacancy, sales executives, reporters, investigative journalists

DEADLINE: FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2020 ― A Lagos-based outfit is looking to engage the services of five investigative journalists for a long-term media project.

Specifically, the outfit is looking for:

  • Candidates who genuinely still believe in Nigeria despite all the odds and are convinced journalism has a critical role to play in the emergence of the Nigeria of our dreams. If you think Nigeria is a lost cause, which, to be honest, is a fair position to hold, you shouldn’t apply. It will end in frustration.
  • Brilliant and creative writers
  • People of courage and conviction
  • Candidates who are passionate about investigative reporting and social justice
  • People who consider themselves young (regardless of their age) and are open to new and unconventional ideas.

Interested applicants who must have completed tertiary education are to send their CVs to journalismrecruitment@gmail.com.

Applicants are also expected to attach an essay of no more than 500 words on the topic: ‘Watchdog — Not Watched Dog’.

A cover letter is unnecessary but CV must contain links to three of applicant’s recently-published stories. Gender, academic discipline, class of degree or length of industry practice also do not matter.

The roles are based in Lagos and the pay is competitive.

Only successful applicants will be contacted on/before August 24.
