VACANCY: Social media visual artist needed at BBC Africa

DEADLINE: JANUARY 24, 2021 — BBC Africa seeks to employ a Social Media Visual Artist for a fixed-term contract based in Lagos, Nigeria.

The contract is expected to end by September 2021.

BBC has an exciting opportunity to create new forms of digital storytelling and journalism that reaches 111 million people in Africa

Selected candidate will be responsible for creating compelling images for stories promoted and published on social media.

The Social Media Visual Artist will play a key role in reaching underserved audiences such as younger, more female and more diverse demographics in Africa.

Selected artist will join a new multi-disciplinary digital team in Lagos made up of news gatherers, designers, software developers and social media specialists.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate first class skills and experience in visual storytelling—illustration and or cartooning.

Interested applicants must be fluent in English. The knowledge of other African languages would be a distinct advantage.
