WAMECA 2021: Special Category on Gender and Gender-Based Violence

DEADLINE: AUGUST 26, 2021 —The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) invites entries for two special categories created under the 2021 edition of WAMECA.

The two categories are:

√ Gender Reporting (general) – with a focus on advancing gender equality and changing gender norms

√ Gender-Based Violence Reporting

These categories will honour journalists in West Africa who have been producing analytical and high-quality reports aimed at promoting gender equality and ending gender-based violence in the region.

Journalists from print, electronic and online media in Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries in West Africa can apply.

Entries must have been published or broadcast between January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.

The deadline for submissions is August 16th, 2021.
