Workshop for journalists at the Data Institute

The Ida B. Wells Society, ProPublica and OpenNews invite journalists to attend Data Institute, a free workshop that teaches journalists how to use data, design and code.

This year, the Data Institute will take place online, over one week of live, intensive instruction from Monday, July 12 to Friday, July 16, 2021.

The training will cover the basics of brainstorming, reporting, designing and building interactive graphics and data-driven news applications.

Journalism students and journalists who are passionate about learning how to use data, design and code to help tell stories can apply.

Applicants from many backgrounds and perspectives, including people of color, women, LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities can attend.
