2025 Rory Peck Awards for freelance journalists, filmmakers

DEADLINE: JULY 10, 2025 — Freelance journalists and filmmakers from around the world are invited to apply for the 2025 Rory Peck Awards.

The Awards recognise the talent and dedication of freelance journalists and filmmakers working in news and current affairs worldwide.

The News Award, News Features Award and the Sony Impact Award are open to video and film entries only. The Martin Adler Prize and the Freelance Journalist of the Year Award are open to journalists working in any format.

Winners across all categories will get £1000 and trophies, while finalists across all categories will get £500 and trophies as well.

To submit, organisations, companies & media outlets will pay £75 per entry while freelancers pay £35 per entry. However, a limited number of waivers are available to freelance journalists who cannot afford the fee.

Entries must have first been broadcast/published between July 5, 2024 and July 10, 2025.

The deadline to submit entries is July 10, 2025.
