DEADLINE: DECEMBER 31, 2026 — The 2027 Stringer Awards for journalists is currently open for applications.
The Stringer Foundation awards multi-year, unrestricted cash awards. Vetted applicants will also receive access to opportunities for security, mental health, publication and legal support.
The Foundation defines journalism broadly and welcome applications from journalists and creative practitioners across all public media forms — including writing, photography, film, public poetry, video, visual art, music, social media, and theatre.
The Stringer Awards support those who courageously use public media to expose abuses of power and injustices that harm the public, while upholding the truth.
The aim is to provide grants between $9,000 and $100,000, depending on funds raised.
The deadline for applications is December 31, 2026.
