DEADLINE: ROLLING — African storytellers below 35 years can apply for Africa No Filter’s Kekere Storytellers Fund to support their next project.
Content creators, wordsmiths, performance artists, visual artists, or journalists, whose works tell African stories beyond stereotypes of poverty, conflict, disease, poor leadership and corruption, can apply for the fund.
The fund will pay micro-grants between $500 – $2000 to emerging African storytellers offering fresh and alternative perspectives of Africa.
Applicants must be Africans based anywhere in Africa or the Diaspora. They must be able to express themselves in English or French, and must have at least two years of related work experience.
In addition, applicants must have a minimum of 5000 followers across Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Interested applicants must also fall in at least one of these categories: Journalist, Blogger, Vlogger, Podcaster, Fiction & Non-Fiction Writer, Photographer, Poet, Musician, Spoken Word Poet, Dancer, Painter, Sculptor, Illustrator or Animator.
Applications for this fund for African storytellers are accepted on a rolling basis (till the end of the year).
