African Change Narrative Storytellers’ Fellowship for early career journalists

DEADLINE: DECEMBER 5, 2023 — The Africa Foundation for Young Media Professionals (AFYMP) invites early career journalists and broadcasters across Africa to apply for the African Change Narrative Storytellers’ Fellowship.

The African Change Narrative Storytellers’ Fellowship aims to raise new crops of journalists, storytellers, and content writers who are equipped to change the negative media stereotypes that have been pushed forward by Western media which project Africa only as a continent full of corruption, wars, famine and with no hope.

This fellowship for early career journalists will empower and groom young enthusiastic, journalists to tell African stories in their originality and a positive light through their stories, news reports and content.

Fellows will receive certificates of completion and commensurate story writing grants (to be disclosed to those selected).

Applicants must be early career journalists or broadcasters based in Africa.

The deadline to apply is December 5, 2023.
