Apply for summer school on investigative reporting in Latvia

DEADLINE: JUNE 20, 2020 ― Journalists from across the globe can apply for the Summer School on Investigative Reporting between August 19 and 22, 2020 at the Stockholm School of Economics in Latvia.

Investigative Journalism Summer School is a meeting place for professionals looking to upscale their skills, be inspired and refreshed.

Over the course of three days, industry leaders will share their trade secrets, the newest tools that make investigations and international cooperation much more effective and powerful.

At the Summer School 2020, successful applicants will learn investigative reporting skills needed to identify the bad guys, find them, prove their scams, interview them and relate it all to audiences on TV or on page.

Some examples of investigative reporting skills are:

  • Produce a 50 min television story;
  • Clean up massive amounts of dirty data;
  • Boost your Internet research skills;
  • Detect organized crime and corruption;
  • Get uncooperative people to speak out;
  • Write long stories and books;
  • The mindset and tools to keep you safe;
  • Infographics and data visualisation.

The Summer School will take place from between August 20 and 22, 2020.

The pre-seminar will take place the day before August 19, 2020.

The registration deadline for the investigative reporting summer school is June 20, 2020.

The event will hold at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Strelnieku 4a, Riga, Latvia
