Associated Press is hiring a journalist in Africa

DEADLINE: JANUARY 19, 2024 — The Associated Press wants to hire a talented journalist with a track record of breaking and anchoring major stories.

The AP is hiring for this role to drive its text coverage as part of a cross-formats reporting team covering Africa.

The reporter will aim to consistently break news, ensure the speedy filing of urgent spot developments and support the Africa team’s efforts to produce distinct, deeply reported enterprise.

Proficiency in photo or video journalism is a plus as well as a demonstrated excellence in health and development reporting.

Applicants must also have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English and French, and must be able to work in Senegal.

The deadline for applications is January 19, 2024.
