Associated Press seeks Africa energy transition reporter

DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 3, 2025 —The Associated Press, an independent global news organisation dedicated to factual reporting, is seeking a reporter to cover the clean energy transition in Africa.

The reporter will tell stories in all formats that help people understand and relate to the dramatic transformations taking place in many countries.

Based in Senegal, South Africa or Kenya, the successful applicant will ideally have at least two years of full-time journalism experience, including familiarity with renewable energy issues and Africa.

Applicants must have advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages spoken in Africa is a strong plus.

Legal authorisation to work in Senegal, South Africa or Kenya is mandatory.

The deadline for applications is September 3, 2025.
