BBC, others to host Trust in News conference on disinformation

In a bid to fight disinformation, BBC’s Trusted News Initiative is set to hold Trust in News conference which will hold online.

The webinar will come up from March 22nd to 24th, 2021.
In 2019 the BBC alongside global publishers and tech platforms united to form the Trusted News Initiative to help counter an epidemic of disinformation.

The partners include organisations such as Facebook, Twitter, Reuters and The Washington Post.Leading academics and journalists from around the world will discuss how to fight back against damaging disinformation, reach new audiences, and restore trust.

The online conference will reveal the latest research into how audiences respond to disinformation that has been fact-checked or labelled as false.

The conference will also question the social media giants about their latest plans to reduce ‘fake news’ while maintaining free speech on the internet.
