BBC seeks applications for Africa Correspondent

DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 — The BBC is seeking an experienced journalist to join its World News Content department as an Africa Correspondent.

The permanent, full-time role is based at the BBC’s Johannesburg bureau in South Africa.

The correspondent will report and analyse major stories across South Africa and the wider African continent. The role will involve producing content for BBC Online, radio, podcasts, television and digital video.

Applicants must have extensive recent experience covering South Africa’s politics, culture, geopolitics and history for global news and current affairs audiences. They must also demonstrate strong writing, editorial judgment, digital production and multi-platform reporting skills.
