DEADLINE: JULY 12, 2024 — Activists and investigative journalists can apply for non-residential full-time paid fellowships at Bertha Foundation.
Tagged the Bertha Challenge Fellowship, the fellowship enables activists and investigative journalists to spend a year working on one pressing social justice challenge.
This edition of the fellowship will begin in January 2025 with a focus on farming and the climate crisis.
Applicants must have a clear grasp on the complex relationship between farming, the climate crisis, political decision makers and the alarming control by large corporations of farming today.
The Fellowships offer each fellow a one-year income not exceeding $64,900, a Project Fund of up to $10,000 to produce a culminating product, and access to a
Connect Fund of up to $5,000 designed to encourage collaboration between Fellows.
Although joint applications between activists and investigative journalists will be prioritised, individual activist and investigative journalist applications will also be considered.
Applicants may come from and work in any country but must be proficient in spoken and written English.
While the activist must have at least five years’ experience, the journalists must be mid-career investigative journalists with at least five years’ experience.
The deadline for applications is July 12, 2024.
