Call for start-ups at DW Global Media Forum

DEADLINE: MAY 15, 2021— Deutsche Welle (DW) invites media start-ups from around the globe to pitch ideas and business models for the Global Media Forum.

GMF is an international annual media conference which offers participants the opportunity to network and strengthen relationships from a variety of interdisciplinary fields such as digital media, politics, culture, business, development and society.

DW ia looking for visionaries who can relate to the GMF 2021 theme of “Disruption and Innovation.”

Applicants should be interested in or preferably already be working on innovations and trends concerning the following:

• News intelligence
• Diversity
• Internet censorship
• Mission Impossible?
• Propaganda and the infodemic

The winners will enjoy global media coverage by DW media as part of their prize.

The winning start-up will also receive professional media training offered by Deutsche Welle Akademie.

DW seeks innovative approaches that support the work of journalists in the newsroom, and also for technologies that help to ensure freedom of speech and security on the internet.

The deadline for applications is May 15th, 2021.
