CJID’s SAIL+ (Soutien à l’information libre) programme seeks journalists

DEADLINE: MARCH 15, 2026 — The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) is inviting journalists practising in Ghana, Nigeria, The Gambia, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso to apply for the SAIL+ (Soutien à l’information libre) programme.

The programme is designed for journalists who want to strengthen their investigative and accountability reporting while collaborating with peers across West Africa.

CJID’s SAIL+ Project (training and fellowship) aims to strengthen independent journalism and support reporters working on public-interest stories.

Selected participants will receive specialised training and reporting support to deepen their investigative work and produce impactful journalism.

Participants will benefit from a three-day in-person training in Dakar and Accra, focused on investigative journalism, solutions journalism and fact-checking. Following the training, fellows will receive six months of mentoring and stipends to support their investigative reporting projects.

The deadline for applications is March 15, 2026.
