CJID’s storytelling fellowship for environmental journalists in West Africa

DEADLINE: JUNE 8, 2026 — The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), in partnership with the UNESCO Global Media Defence Fund (GMDF), invites environmental journalists to apply for its storytelling fellowship.

This six-month storytelling fellowship aims to strengthen the capacity of journalists to conduct investigative reporting on cases of violence against environmental reporters.

It will also support the production, publication and dissemination of these stories in line with international standards.

Professional journalists currently resident in Ghana, Liberia, The Gambia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone can apply.

Freelance, independent and female journalists are strongly encouraged to apply.

The deadline for applications is June 8, 2026.
