Data Fellowships on Covid-19 vaccination in Africa

DEADLINE: JUNE 23, 2021 —WanaData is offering data fellowships and micro-grants to data scientists, journalists, technologists, epidemiologists, and Wikipedian in Residence on Covid-19 vaccination in Africa.

The fellowship programme seeks to provide interactive tools and actionable insights into epidemiological factors, healthcare system factors, demographic vulnerability, and access to water and other essential services that impact the vaccine roll-out.

Fellows will receive funding to produce outstanding stories and in-depth analyses around Covid-19 vaccination across Africa.

The fellowship opportunities Lined up are:

• Wikipedian in Residence (WiR) Fellowship for members of Wikimedia chapters across the continent. The WiR must be fluent in French and based in an African country, preferably in Senegal or Cameroon.

• WanaData Journalism Fellowships for established journalists, epidemiologists or digital storytellers (such as a blogger or social media content creator). Applicants must be based in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Senegal or Cameroon, and must be fluent in English or French.

The deadline for applications is June 23rd, 2021.
