EJN fellowship for journalists to cover conference in Kenya

DEADLINE: APRIL 7, 2026 — The Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) has a funded fellowship for journalists to attend and report from the 11th Our Ocean Conference in Kenya.

The conference, themed “Our Ocean, Our Heritage, Our Future”, is scheduled for June 16 to 18, 2026, in Mombasa, Kenya.

It will bring together global stakeholders to address critical ocean issues, including marine protected areas, sustainable fisheries, marine pollution, the blue economy, climate change and maritime security.

The fellowship, part of EJN’s Ocean Media Initiative, will support five journalists to attend the event. Applicants must be professional journalists reporting from coastal countries, with a track record of covering ocean or environmental issues.

Successful applicants will receive funding to cover economy-class airfare, accommodation, meals, travel medical insurance and ground transportation.

The deadline for applications is April 7, 2026.
