Fact-checking lead needed at Rest of World

DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 22, 2023 — Rest of World is looking for a fact-checking lead with experience checking litigious features and working with international stories.

The fact-checking lead will be responsible for fact-checking the organisation’s long-form features and enterprise pieces. The role will also require coordinating and hiring freelance checkers to review additional stories.

The selected candidate will also create a fact-checking guide for the publication and help train the editors, reporters, and regular contributing reporters around the world on best practices.

This is a part-time contract role based in New York, with an expectation of 25 hours of work per week on average. The role will pay $5,500/month.

Applicants must have at least 5-7 years of experience fact-checking for a digital, print, or magazine publication.
