Fellowship for journalists, writers, others from minority groups in Africa

DEADLINE: JANUARY 30, 2023 —The Minority Africa Fellowship is currently open to journalists and storytellers from minority groups across Africa.

Writers, photographers, filmmakers, journalists, or a combination of all with relevant and provable work experience in their chosen areas can apply for the fellowship.

The Minority Africa Fellowship programme is virtual and will hold from February to July 2023.

Fellows will be trained on how to cover groups such as women, sexual, gender, ethnic, and religious minorities, persons with disabilities, migrants, asylum seekers, as well as refugees.

Fellows must be at least 18 years old; they will be paid a monthly allowance, receive an internet stipend, and intra-country travel to cover stories for Minority Africa.

Each fellow would publish six stories which will be a blend of reported multimedia features as well as opinions and analysis.

Fellows must also be from and living in an African country and belong to at least one of the minority groups.

The deadline for applications is January 30, 2023.
