DEADLINE: MAY 9, 2022 —The Fund for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) provides grants and other support for the production of high-quality, unbiased, nonpartisan investigative stories.
Freelance journalists, staff reporters and media outlets are eligible for grants.
Proposed investigative stories can be for print, online or broadcast, books, documentaries or podcasts.
FIJ provides three types of grants: regular, expedited, and follow-up.
Regular grants of up to $10,000 are awarded three to four times a year. The next deadline is May 9, 2022.
Expedited grants are for proposals that are extremely urgent and cannot wait for the regular review cycle. These proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Follow-up grants up to $2,500 are awarded for timely follow-up coverage to original investigations that were produced with grants from the Fund.
