I-79 Media Consults is Nigeria’s unique social hub, renowned for media training, career development initiatives towards sustainable development with operational base in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

We identify and help facilitate training, fellowship and award opportunities in media practice whilst providing media resources and solutions to contemporary challenges facing media practitioners.

Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria, I-79 Media Consults is growing to emerge as one of the leading media empowering platforms that assist young media professionals to build and strengthen media practice with sustainable development initiatives and programmes not just for Nigeria but also for Africa.

I-79 Media Consults focuses on Media Career Development initiatives that are dedicated towards providing creative and innovative media solutions as it relates to media welfare programmes and capacity building projects.

In a bid to achieve our vision, we focus on three thematic program areas including Media Training and Services, Media Career Development and Organising Media Awards, Workshops and Symposia.

 

I-79 Media Consults in the news

  1. In April 2020, we trained not less than 400 campus journalists from Nigerian and the Benin Republic in reporting and fact-checking. The training formed part of our organisation’s Webinar Series for Campus Journalists with the theme “The Dynamics of Journalism in the 21st Century”. Here are snippets from the webinar as reported by The Nigerian Tribune, The Nation, Platform Times, Ogun Today, EduCeleb, News Digest, Wetin Happen.
  2. During the second edition of the organisation’s Webinar Series for Campus Journalists with the theme “The Dynamics of Journalism in the 21st Century,” experts asked participants to use investigative journalism to develop Nigeria. This was also reported by The Nigerian Tribune, Platform Times, Ogun Today, and Headline NG among others.
  3. We also reported that representatives of professional journalism organisations (unions/associations/societies) and freelance journalists are eligible to apply for the 2020 Fetisov Journalism Awards. This report caught the attention of the organisers of the awards, Fetisov Charitable Foundation.
