Journalists can now apply for #PreventEpidemicsNaija Journalism Award

DEADLINE: JANUARY 3, 2021 ― #PreventEpidemicsNaija has called for applications from interested journalists across Nigeria for its maiden journalism award.

The award is open to journalists and social media influencers who have published stories in print/digital news, radio, television, and social media, and have had an impact by producing evidence-based and accurate reporting of epidemic preparedness in Nigeria.

Readers, media institutions or interested others such as civil society and academia may submit nominations too.

Articles, radio or television shows and social media posts must meet the following requirements:

  • English articles of a minimum 650 words in length published in print or digital news platform
  • Radio/TV show that is 30 minutes or longer
  • Social media post of a minimum of 350 words in length
  • Print and Digital: Must have written and published 2 or more articles on the given topics.
  • Radio and TV: Must have produced 2 or more shows on the given topics
  • Social Media: Must have published 3 or more posts on the given topics.

Submissions should cover Budget and Funding, Awareness, and Health and must have been published or aired between December 31, 2019, and December 31, 2020

Nomination ends on Sunday, January 3, 2021.

Winners will be announced at an award ceremony on Friday, January 22, 2021.
