Media mentoring initiative documentary fellowship for students

DEADLINE: JANUARY 14, 2025 — Applications are currently open for the Media Mentoring Initiative Documentary Fellowship for Students (MMi-DFS).

The documentary fellowship is an immersive, three-month programme for early-career documentary filmmakers.

It is for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the rich culture of Yoruba land, explore documentary ethics and enrich their engagement around the philosophies, governance and way of life of this prominent people of West Africa.

The fellowship is designed to educate, motivate, and nurture tertiary institution students interested in the documentary form.

To apply, create a two-minute reel on your topic of interest about the Yoruba culture, write a 200-word statement of intent on why you should be considered for this fellowship and submit two letters of reference (from two media professionals of not less than 10 years experience in the media who can vouch for your character, integrity and ability to withstand the technical and intellectual rigours of the fellowship).
