The Editor for Sub-Saharan Africa will likely have deep experience and exceptional skills as a journalist with a track record of working collaboratively with editors and reporters in different locations.
Reuters also wants an editor with proven ability to lead from the front, running complex, fast-moving breaking news, and equally capable of switching gears to embark on deeper enterprise stories
Some of the editor’s diplomatic skills include expertise in reporting companies and business, experience of recruiting, motivating and managing diverse teams of skilled journalists; and a solid base of high-level contacts in the region.
