Sigma Awards 2026 open for entries

DEADLINE: JANUARY 11, 2026 — Journalists can apply for the 2026 Sigma Awards, which celebrate the best data journalism from around the world.

The competition has no categories, allowing journalists and newsrooms to submit their strongest work without worrying about classification.

The award welcomes projects from any newsroom size, freelancers and young talent.

The jury will review all entries and select winners who share a US$5,000 prize. Judges look for strong data collection and analysis, compelling storytelling and visuals, impactful public service, and innovation.

Entries must be for work published between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025.

The deadline to apply is January 11, 2026.
