Student Journalists can apply for Lekan Otufodunrin Award

DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 28, 2021The Lekan Otufodunrin Award for student journalists seeks impactful investigative pieces from student journalists in Nigeria.
The Award will honour emerging student journalists in Nigeria who strive to strengthen peoples’ voices and illuminate happenings across the country.
Winning entries will be selected based on quality and impact. The organisers welcome excellent submissions that demonstrate analytical skills and outstanding writing ability.
The first-prize winner will receive N70,000 while the second prize winner will bag N50,000.
The Award is open for reports published in print and online news media.
Multimedia submissions may include web, audio, video, visual or mixed media.
Applicants must be students of any of the institutions in Nigeria.
Submitted stories must have been published between January 1, 2020, and January 31, 2021.
Five applicants will be selected to the final stage through an announcement that will be made on April 25, 2021.
Selected winners will be announced on May 9, 2021.
The deadline for application is February 28, 2021.
