Training on barriers to health services

DEADLINE: APRIL 15, 2021 —Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) and the Global Fund invite applications for a training on human rights-related barriers to health services.

Interested journalists from Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa can participate in the training opportunity.

TRF will deliver a six-week online training programme in English to strengthen journalistic skills and enhance knowledge of human rights-related barriers to health services.

The course content will review the specific challenges associated with public health reporting, including the ethical considerations necessary when interviewing vulnerable people and covering sensitive issues.

At the end of the course, participants will pitch story ideas for the opportunity to participate in a mentoring programme.

Applicants must be full-time journalists or regular contributors working for media organisations.

Interested applicants must have a minimum of two years’ professional experience.

The deadline for applications is April 15, 2021.
