Women journalists can apply for IWMF Emergency Fund

Women journalists are invited to apply for the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) Emergency Fund.

The IWMF Emergency Fund for journalists in crisis provides women journalists with a lifeline of support in times of distress or threat.

The IWMF Emergency Fund provides women journalists with small grants for psychological and medical care; three months of temporary relocation assistance; legal aid to counter threats of imprisonment or censorship; and non-financial assistance in the form of information about additional access to resources.

Applicants must be staff or freelance reporters, working in any medium, whose primary profession is journalism. They must have worked full-time as journalists within six months of applying for assistance.
