YouTube’s Sustainability Lab: News organizations can get up to $200,000 USD grant

DEADLINE: MAY 31, 2021 —The Google News Initiative seeks applications from digital-first news organizations for its YouTube’s Sustainability Lab.

This program enables news organizations to invest meaningfully in capacity-building initiatives to set themselves up for long-term financial success and sustainability in digital video news by providing grants, workshops, and YouTube specialist support.

Selected news organizations will receive up to $200,000 USD funding to invest in capacity-building for digital video.

Organizations must be based in one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, United States, Europe, Belgium, Egypt, France, Germany, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Organizations that are led by individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in journalism as well as organizations that aim to elevate underrepresented audiences and promote diversity, equity and inclusion are encouraged to apply.

The deadline for applications is May 31, 2021.
