2024 U-Monitors programme opens for student journalists

DEADLINE: MARCH 23, 2024 — Applications are now open for the 2024 UDEME Monitors (U-Monitors) Programme, an initiative designed for student journalists focussing on uncovering and highlighting accountability and transparency issues within developmental projects.

Interested applicants must be campus journalists, recent graduates, and volunteers residing in Nigeria who are between 18 and 35 years old.

They equally must possess good writing and communication skills.

Each applicant is expected to submit a story pitch of 200 words or less on a procurement-related issue preferably within the applicant’s state of residence.

Knowledge of the local dialect of the engagement area will be considered an added advantage.

Successful applicants of the six-month-long programme will be provided with monthly stipends, mentoring and will be eligible for the 2024 Next-Generation Campus Reporter Award, among others.
