DEADLINE: JANUARY 31, 2022 –Submissions are invited for the 2022 AKO Caine Prize for African Writing, an annual short story award.
The AKO Caine Prize for African Writing is awarded for a short story by an African writer published in English.
The winner will receive a cash prize of £10,000, while four other shortlisted writers will receive £500 each.
Stories must have been published in the five years preceding the submission deadline and must be submitted by a publisher.
Publishers must obtain consent from the writer(s) before submitting their stories.
Translated stories are eligible, provided that an English translation has been published.
The deadline for submissions is January 31st, 2022.
