Call for trainer to develop curriculum and train journalists on freedom of religion

DEADLINE: APRIL 14, 2023 — Search for Common Ground (Search) seeks a trainer to develop curriculum and train journalists on freedom of religion in Nigeria.

Selected candidate will have five years’ experience as a trainer in religious related topics.

The organisation is proposing a 36-month project to empower actors to prevent and address conflicts along religious lines and advance Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in Nigeria.

Search will first develop a curriculum on Common Ground Journalism in relation to FoRB, and then facilitate a 3-day training for selected journalists.

In addition to prior newsroom experience in conducting training on journalism in relation to FoRB issues, the trainer must be familiar with the six geo-political regions in Nigeria, the context and media landscape, including knowledge on the existing media houses and journalists associations and organisations.

Training experience provided in the NGO sector in West Africa and Nigeria is an added advantage.

Search is an international non-profit organisation that promotes peaceful resolution of conflict.

The deadline for applications is April 14, 2023.
