CNN Academy’s storytelling for impact programme seeks applications

DEADLINE: JUNE 23, 2025 — Young storytellers from the Global South who are eager to make a difference through journalism can apply for this programme by CNN Academy.

Tagged “Voices from the South: Storytelling for Impact,” this programme will train participants to find the stories that matter and tell them in depth, context and impact.

The first phase will take place online through the CNN Academy Hub.

To be considered for Phase Two, participants must complete and pass all the required courses, earn the necessary badges, and submit a pitch for a story.

Phase Two features in-person training and simulation in Abu Dhabi in November, where CNN Academy’s expert trainers will train participants on mobile journalism techniques and storytelling practices. CNN Academy will cover costs associated with this trip.

Applicants must reside and work in a country located in the Global South, which includes any developing country in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia.

The deadline for applications is June 23, 2025.
