2025 Africa Science Journalism Awards open for applications

DEADLINE: JULY 4, 2025 — African journalists can apply for the 2025 Africa Science Journalism Awards (ASJA), which celebrate excellence in health, science and development reporting across the continent.

Winners will receive monetary prizes ranging from $1,500 to $2,000 and plaques.

Any African journalist, permanently or primarily residing in Africa, working in local or international print, broadcast or online media, who has published a story in line with the thematic areas of health, climate change and environment and agriculture between January 2024 and June 30, 2025, can apply.

Entry categories include Best Story, Early Career Journalist, Innovator Award for Editors and Science Champion.

The deadline for applications is July 4, 2025.
