Annual ICiR Award for Data/Investigative Journalism

DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 —Campus journalists can apply for annual ICiR Award for Data/Investigative Journalism.

Applicants must be certified Campus Journalists in any Nigerian tertiary institution.

The 1st to 3rd place winners will receive N120,000, N80,000, and N50,000 respectively. The top three winners will also access internship opportunity at ICIR.

The award is presented by Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJ UI) in collaboration with International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) and National Union of Campus Journalists (NUCJ).

Interested campus journalists will submit the link to an investigative story/data journalism story to ucjunibadan@gmail.com (the subject of the email must be: ‘ICIR entry investigative/ data journalism’).

Entries must be based on happenings within 2020/2021 and must have been published.

The minimum word count for stories is 3000 words (include font and others).

Applicants will also attach a short bio and scanned ID card of their school and press body.

The deadline for applications is September 30, 2021.
