CJID’s capacity-building workshop on public safety reporting

DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 21, 2025 — The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) invites applications from Nigerian journalists for a two-day capacity-building workshop on public safety reporting.

Through this workshop under the People-Centred Public Safety (PCPS) project, journalists will learn how to report insecurity and governance with depth and integrity, producing stories that foster accountability and inclusion rather than fear and division.

Applicants must:

  • Be a practising Nigerian-based journalist.
  • Demonstrate a clear interest in peacebuilding, public safety, or accountability reporting.
  • Be available to participate fully in a 2-day physical workshop.
  • Be willing to produce at least one in-depth or multimedia story based on lessons from the training.

Female journalists, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and those reporting from regions affected by recurring conflict are strongly encouraged to apply.

The deadline to apply for the workshop on public safety reporting is November 21, 2025.
