Candidates must have demonstrable newsdesk editorial management skills, honed during at least five years managing teams of journalists in a mainstream media or equivalent digital publishing environment.
The primary international language of the news editor will be English, with additional proficiency in Amharic, Arabic, French or kiSwahili being an advantage.
