
DEADLINE: AUGUST 21, 2026 — The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering Biodiversity reporting grants to journalists to support the production of in-depth stories in West Africa.
To ensure that local audiences in West Africa have access to trusted, timely and accurate information on the current critical state of biodiversity, EJN’s Biodiversity Media Initiative is offering five story grants to increase the quality and quantity of biodiversity coverage in the region.
The initiative seeks pitches for ambitious in-depth stories that make use of innovative multimedia, collaborative, cross-border or investigative approaches to expand the breadth and depth of coverage of biodiversity and conservation issues in West Africa.
Proposals that use data journalism and geojournalism are also encouraged.
EJN may award 5 grants with an average budget of 1,000-2,000 EUR each.
The deadline for applications is August 21, 2026.
